Nesting.com supports March for Babies(SM)

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Being a mom is a little easier with the launch today of Nesting.com, a new online community that helps families organize their lives and memories and find resources while helping more babies be born healthy. "Nesting.com is a free online experience that provides everything a modern mom may need to meet the daily challenges of parenting," says Wendy Bellissimo, celebrity nursery designer and co-founder of Nesting.com. "Any activity your family participates in, be it school, ballet or soccer, can now be managed in one centralized and secure place." In line with Bellissimo's mantra to design everything from a family's point of view, Nesting.com's scheduling, planning and sharing tools are well designed and practical, like photo organization that recognizes and remembers family events.

Nesting.com is additionally a tremendous resource for new moms, connecting its membership to every sort of activity or group imaginable, most notably maternal and infant health content through the March of Dimes Web site, marchofdimes.com.

Nesting.com is also the National Family Teams Sponsor for March for Babies (formerly known as WalkAmerica(R)), the March of Dimes #1 fundraising event, which takes place the last weekend of April in most communities. Families participating in March for Babies can use Nesting.com as a forum to share photos and announcements about the event.

"Our goal is to provide moms everywhere with the tools and resources they need to have a healthy pregnancy and take care of their new baby," said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "Thanks to our partnership with Nesting.com, we can reach even more moms with information that will help babies come into the world healthy."

Ms. Bellissimo has expanded her passion and love for motherhood, family and children into a business that spans retail products, publishing, celebrity nursery design and, now, an online destination for moms and families. In 2003, she authored a book entitled Nesting -- Design Inspirations for Your Growing Family. And, in 2006, Bellissimo was elected to the March of Dimes Board of Advisors.

In most communities throughout the country, March for Babies will take place the last weekend of April. Visit marchforbabies.org or call 1-800-525-9255 to sign up or to donate to help babies be born healthy.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. For the latest resources and information, visit marchofdimes.com or nacersano.org.
