New Walking Program Website Inspires Americans to Step Out and Step Up to Better Health

MIDLAND, Mich., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- In conjunction with National Walking Month, Health Enhancement Systems has launched a new Walktober website (www.Walktober.com) to dramatically boost walking for health and fitness during October. The walking program (http://my.walktober.com/welcome/individuals) has been available since 2003 through employer wellness programs, helping hundreds of organizations and thousands of walkers step up to better health.

This year anyone can sign up and take advantage of this fun campaign with a fall theme. "We've had such tremendous interest from individuals and families that we decided to put a public site online," explains Dean Witherspoon, founder and CEO of Health Enhancement Systems. "October is an ideal time to step outside, enjoy the cool weather and spectacular fall colors, and build a healthy walking habit."

The new site has 100+ fabulous fall photos from all over North America, motivating daily health tips, more than 200 great-tasting healthy recipes (including specially selected autumn favorites), a fun, interactive logging page, and MapWalk (an easy-to-use walking route tool built with Google Maps technology).
