Dynamed Solutions to deploy HealtheTrax(TM) for Sleep Services of America

ELKRIDGE, Md., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynamed Solutions, an innovative thought leader in health information technologies, today announced a pilot for the first commercial use of its HealtheTrax(TM) software service with Sleep Services of America, to monitor patients who have recently begun CPAP therapy in Maryland. HealtheTrax(TM) is the first multi-modal platform-independent service to allow remote monitoring of patients without the use of proprietary devices or smart monitoring equipment. The Software as a Service (SaaS) system allows patients to be assigned to numerous series of reminders aimed at managing chronic conditions, preventive services, medications, and healthy lifestyles. Patients can receive reminders via email, text message, interactive voice response, or live phone engagement, and respond with messages aimed at tracking compliance and providing clinical values back to the provider.

Sleep Services of America, the leading provider of sleep-related health services in Maryland, will offer HealtheTrax(TM) to patients with obstructive sleep apnea who receive a new CPAP machine through any of Sleep Services of America's Maryland locations. Patients will receive daily questions about how many hours they used the CPAP machine each night and how well they are adjusting to sleeping with CPAP. Problems that are reported will be routed to the appropriate personnel at Sleep Services to proactively intervene to ensure the best clinical outcome. In addition, patients will receive weekly mini-questionnaires to gauge progress, and a monthly sleep index and well being scoring tool to track clinical improvements.

"One of the biggest challenges we face with new CPAP patients is how they adjust to using this new piece of equipment in their homes," said John Mathias, President of Sleep Services of America. "Patient compliance to treatment protocols is such a key component to improving outcomes, and in the past, we did not have a cost effective way of reaching out to all of our patients. HealtheTrax(TM) gives us the ability to monitor patients through the critical first 12 weeks of treatment and beyond without unduly burdening either the patients or our staff. We see this as the first step towards a more comprehensive sleep management program."

"We believe that no one has higher interest or insight into a patient's health than the patient themselves," noted Mike Fierro, a principal and founder of Dynamed Solutions. "We designed HealtheTrax(TM) to enable better self-care and a means of connecting patients and providers or care managers. By providing high-touch, low-cost personalized reminders and tracking tools, we are able to provide clients with the ability to provide mass-customized care management and health monitoring on an exception basis. More and more studies are showing the benefits of remote patient monitoring and telehealth equipment - we're simply accomplishing the same results by utilizing technology that patients already have (email, cell phone, land phone)."

HealtheTrax(TM) can be used as a direct-entry web-based solution for individual consumers, or can be configured to accept feeds from Electronic Medical Records, Personal Health Records, Health Information Exchanges, payer-based claims data or any other electronic form of data transfer.
