Quit, New Survey Finds

PITTSBURGH, Pa., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Smokers now have a new motivation to quit, a first of its kind stop-smoking gum with a whitening benefit. Nicorette(R) White Ice Mint is the first stop-smoking aid with a whitening benefit that not only helps with tough cravings and withdrawal symptoms, but also helps whiten teeth.(1) A new survey found half (49 percent) of smokers surveyed say the yellowing of their teeth strongly contributes to their decision to quit smoking.(2) Further, younger smokers (68 percent) under the age of 35 are especially concerned about the effects of smoking on their teeth, and more of them (82 percent) want to quit smoking because of it.(2)

Experts believe this new stop-smoking product is important because it provides smokers with a new option to quit smoking and the unique whitening may be an extra push to motivate smokers to initiate a quit attempt. In fact, the survey shows that 72 percent of people believe a quit-smoking product with teeth whitening benefits will encourage them so they can quit for good.(2)
