New Practice Brings Sanity and Support to Parents

Opening of Gold Parent Coaching Offers Relief to Families Nationwide

SHORT HILLS, N.J., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Psychotherapist, certified life coach and certified parent coach, Tammy Gold spent the bulk of her career working with troubled children at a New York City mental health clinic. Quickly she realized that she was hitting a brick wall with these children as the damage was too deep and it became clear that their parents and their upbringing were the real issues. The demands and challenges that many parents face were only made that much clearer when Tammy herself had a baby and found herself overwhelmed with the responsibility and stress that often goes hand in hand with having a child.

It was then she realized that if she, as an educated woman specifically trained to help parents and children, was overwhelmed - many others must be as well. Parenting is often considered the toughest job you will ever have and yet Tammy realized there is almost no resource to help you prepare for it emotionally as well as physically. In addition, despite the fact that this is a problem that many face, few publicly acknowledge their difficulty and the pressure to create perfect children often leaves parents feeling alone. Because of this, in 2007, Tammy founded Gold Parent Coaching to help mothers and fathers cope and solve their unique issues.

Gold Parent Coaching offers a variety of specialized courses for parents including pregnancy care, practical advice for toddlers and communication tips for teens, as well as personalized individual sessions. In an attempt to make the process as convenient and stress-free as possible, sessions are conducted in the office, in your home, the location of your choice even over the phone. In fact, Tammy has received many calls from distraught or overwhelmed parents in the midst of a stressful moment and due to her unique service she can help them immediately.

As a psychotherapist licensed in New York and New Jersey, Tammy Gold brings a wealth of expertise, compassion and personal experience to her unique approach to parenting. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University, where she received her Masters Degree in social work, Tammy Gold is also certified as a life coach and a parenting coach; a unique combination as many coaches today receive no formal training and practice solely from personal experience. In addition to her tenure at the New York City mental health clinic, Tammy's professional experience includes caring for cancer patients at Memorial Sloan-Kettering and supporting children and their families at a school for the emotionally disturbed children in New Jersey.

To encourage parents to seek the support they deserve, the initial consultation at Gold Parent Coaching is complimentary and appointments are easily scheduled on the website. For more information or to arrange for an interview with Tammy Gold please contact Catherine Pope or Courtney O'Neill at 212.661.1336.
