Today, Xeno Media introduces a new mobile-optimized web app to provide exercise, timing and resting cues for those who are using, or interested in trying what is being heralded as a “Scientifically Proven 7-Minute Workout.”
Introduced widely in the New York Times, the workout provides a specific, detailed, 12-exercise program that study authors claim is the optimal workout for overall health with minimal time invested.
According to authors Brett Klika and Chris Jordan of the Human Performance Institute in Orlando, FL, the high-intensity circuit training (HICT) advocated in the workout optimizes fat burning while possibly improving other health markers.
The suggested circuit includes twelve exercises, performed for thirty seconds each, alternating with ten seconds of rest. A single circuit takes about seven minutes to complete and authors suggest that two or three complete circuits make for an ideal, daily workout.
“My wife tried the workout for the first time this weekend. She loved it, but had difficulty keeping track of the exercise and rest intervals in time to prepare for the next exercise,” said Kevin Munday, one of Xeno Media’s Principals. “We at Xeno Media decided to develop a simple web-delivered application that would allow users--with their web browsers, smart phones and tablets—to receive visual and audio cues in order to help users focus on the workout rather than the logistics.”
The app is free for all and available at: http://www.7minuteworkouttimer.com .
