New Mexico Association of Counties Partners with Coast2Coast Rx to Provide Access to Discount Prescriptions and Healthcare Services
Date:12/17/2012

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (PRWEB) December 17, 2012

The New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC) announced today its partnership with Coast2Coast Rx, a discount prescription program that has been vetted and approved by more than 280 cities, counties and townships nationwide.

NMAC, a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing and serving New Mexico’s 33 counties, endorsed the Coast2Coast card for two reasons: it saves constituents up to 75 percent on prescriptions while providing discounts on other healthcare services; and it has the distinction of being the only prescription discount card that gives back to the community by contributing $1.25 for each prescription filled to participating county programs.

“Everyone should have access to affordable health care,” said Paul Gutierrez, executive director of the New Mexico Association of Counties. “Partnering with Coast2Coast made perfect sense: residents reap the health and savings benefits of the program and the income generated by use of the card can be used to fund public programs that improve quality of life for our constituents.”

All consumers are eligible to use the Coast2Coast Rx card regardless of age, income or health status, and there are no membership requirements or enrollment paperwork. Not only can the program can be a significant cost-saver for consumers who have limited or no insurance coverage, it can also provide relief to those facing high deductibles or costs of prescriptions not covered under their current plan. In some cases the card can be used by senior citizens to offset the “donut hole;” the out-of-pocket expenses that Medicare Part D patients experience.

With the Coast2Coast Rx card, residents have access to discounted rates on more than 60,000 name brand and generic prescriptions, allowing them to save up to 75 percent, with a nationwide average savings of more than 60 percent in 2012. Through partner programs, card users can select from a network of providers offering vision, dental, hearing, lab and imaging services, as well as diabetes supplies and even pet prescriptions and veterinary care.

“Coast2Coast Rx card’s mission is to provide savings on thousands of prescription drugs while improving health outcomes by making the card available with no restrictions on age, income status, or existing health conditions,” stated Marty Dettelbach, Chief Marketing Officer of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., the company that produces the Coast2Coast Rx card. “New Mexico’s 33 counties and their constituents can benefit from this program and its easy-to-use platform.”

In order to continually improve users’ experience, Coast2Coast Rx has recently made upgrades to its website, where consumers can print their free card, read a health blog and find links to the program’s Facebook and Twitter profiles. For immediate savings on prescription costs, New Mexico residents can find their county using http://coast2coastrx.com/index.php/print-free-card/ and print their free card.
