Bupa Asia Pacific Managing Director Dean Holden today announced that Mr Richard Bowden had officially taken over as Managing Director of the company.

Melbourne, VIC (PRWEB) December 3, 2008 -- Bupa Asia Pacific Managing Director Dean Holden today announced that Mr Richard Bowden had officially taken over as Managing Director of the company.

Bupa Australia is a leading Australian health and care company which provides health insurance and a range of complementary general insurance and financial services for more than 3 million Australians through the brands HBA, Mutual Community, MBF and ClearView.

Mr Bowden was previously Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for the company, which was formed following the merger of Bupa Australia and MBF.

The merger was the largest of its kind ever undertaken in Australia's private health insurance sector. It has created Bupa Australia, a truly national health insurance competitor which is committed to providing affordable health insurance that delivers significant value for its customers.

Mr Holden welcomed Mr Bowden to the role as Managing Director.

"Richard has been involved in the health insurance industry for more than 25 years," Mr Holden said.

"His experience, expertise and commitment to putting customers first will help to ensure that Bupa Australia continues to grow and to lead the industry, and remains an employer of choice for our people."

Mr Bowden replaces outgoing Managing Director, Mr Eric Dodd, who will become a Non-Executive Director of the Board of Bupa Australia.

Mr Holden thanked Mr Dodd for his leadership of MBF for the past six years, and for his role in steering the transition period in the merger between Bupa Australia and MBF.

"Eric has been a pioneer in the Australian private health insurance sector in relation to industry consolidation, and promoting the benefits of supporting the health and wellbeing of customers, not just their hospital treatment," Mr Holden said.
