New Lawsuit on Alleged NuvaRing Blood Clot: Now, AttorneyOne Can Provide Advice

On November 13, a new lawsuit was filed by a Wood County couple in West Virginia Southern District Court (6:2013cv28891) alleging that the woman was diagnosed with a blood clot in her left transverse sinus from her NuvaRing. NuvaRing is a popular internal birth control device, a vaginal ring placed near the cervix that was approved by the FDA in 2001. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that in 2001 she suffered from severe headache and she was diagnosed with a blood clot in her left transverse sinus.

On September 26, another lawsuit was filed by a woman in Nebraska District Court (case no. 8:2013cv00301) alleging that she suffered pulmonary embolism from her NuvaRing. In the lawsuit, the plaintiff claims that she began using Nuvaring in 2007 and four years later a CT scan revealed the presence of pulmonary embolism.
