New Jersey Senator to Serve as Keynote Speaker for the HCMA Annual Conference

MOUNT ROYAL, N.J., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- New Jersey Senator Jennifer Beck (Republican, District 12) will serve as the keynote speaker at the Healthcare Communication & Marketing Association's (HCMA) Annual Conference taking place at the Westin Hotel in Jersey City, N.J., from June 17-19, 2009.

In accordance with the event's theme -- Responding to Change: Innovative Strategies that Fuel Growth in the New Economy -- Senator Beck will focus on how the economy and the politics of healthcare are currently impacting companies' abilities to thrive and innovate as well as discuss what some states are doing to help companies in the healthcare industry.

"We're honored to have Senator Beck serve as our keynote speaker at the 2009 HCMA conference," said Jay Bolling, president of HCMA and president of Roska Healthcare Advertising. "Her presentation will provide attendees with the insight they need to develop strategies to help them move forward."

The HCMA is one of the leading professional associations of healthcare marketing, communications and education professionals dedicated to enhancing and optimizing the careers of its members. Its annual conference is one of the fastest growing events in the industry.

Cost controls, increased regulatory scrutiny and a push for greater transparency have created greater pressure for many companies to seek new strategies for keeping their competitive edge and continue innovating. The HCMA's 2009 Annual Conference is a response to these current challenges and brings together some of the leading thought leaders from Fortune 1000 companies to present proven strategies and tactics for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, medical device and services groups.

Following her keynote speech, Senator Beck will participate in a panel discussion alongside representatives from Pfizer, Actelion Pharmaceuticals and other groups. The panel presentation will be moderated by Patrick Clinton, Pharmaceutical Executive's editor in chief.

New Jersey's state senator since 2008, Senator Beck has also served a term as an Assemblywoman and is president of JAB Marketing, a media relations and marketing firm.
