New Executive Director to Lead Medical Education to Greater Relevance

Medavera, Inc., a continuing medical education provider, today announced the appointment of a new leader who will help expand its offerings of novel, engaging scientifically based education.

Springfield, MO (PRWEB) December 23, 2009 -- While debate rages on all sides of healthcare reform, one fact remains: the heavy lifting to move an unhealthy population toward improved health will require educated healthcare providers. They need continuing education that is focused and measurable, free of commercial bias, and offers how-to knowledge for prevention and efficient disease management.

Medavera, Inc., a continuing medical education provider, today announced the appointment of a new leader who will help expand its offerings of novel, engaging scientifically based education. Medavera’s educational programs have included medical, pharmaceutical and medical device topics.

“Healthcare professionals’ schedules are full and the time they spend in education is extremely valuable,” said new Executive Director Jill A. Sellers, B.S. Pharm, Pharm.D. “Educational programs must provide meaningful and engaging learning experiences so the audience walks away enlightened, inspired, and ready to apply what they’ve learned. This is crucial for patients, the healthcare system, and global public health.”

Dr. Sellers, a licensed and residency trained pharmacist, has more than 20-years experience in pharmacy practice in hospital, long-term care, geriatric and community settings. Prior to joining Medavera, Dr. Sellers served as managing editor for the peer-reviewed, scientific journal American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy (AJHP) and is a coauthor/coeditor of the book "The Pharmacist in Public Health: Education,
