New England Technology Foundation Announces 'Connecting for Children's Charities 2008' Event

Networking Event Raises Funds for Children's Charities; Highlights include

Awards, Food and Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament

BOSTON, March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The New England Technology Foundation (NE Technology Foundation) (http://www.netechfoundation.org) today announced that its 14th annual charity fundraising event will be held on Thursday, March 27th at the Westin Waltham Hotel (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1036 ). The evening will be full of food, casino games, entertainment and networking - - all supporting children's charities throughout New England.
Event highlights include:

-- Cocktail party and dinner food stations

-- A Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament

-- Casino games, including blackjack and roulette wheels

-- Live band

-- Silent auction

In addition to the festivities, two awards will be given out. The Innovation Philanthropist Award will be presented to the team of Jack and Shelly Blais, Mike and Maureen Champa, Roger and Michelle Marino, Paul and Kathleen Severino, and Jim Dow and Lucille Zanghi for their innovative work with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (http://www.dana-farber.org) through their The High Technology Multi-Disciplinary Research Fund. The NE Tech Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to Duncan McDougal of the Children's Literacy Foundation (http://www.clifonline.org).
