New DuPont(TM) Agility(TM) SG Herbicide Offers Wheat Growers Answers to Changing Weed Control Needs
Date:1/8/2008

WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DuPont (NYSE: DD) has received registration approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Agility(TM) SG herbicide, a new product designed to provide wheat growers with a better tool for broad spectrum weed control, including ALS resistant species. DuPont(TM) Agility(TM) features four active ingredients and two modes of action in a single formulation to offer convenient, broad spectrum control without the hassles of mixing multiple products.

"Agility(TM) SG is yet another example of how DuPont Crop Protection is reinventing itself with better choices for managing the changing weed control needs of today's farmers," said Jim Collins, vice president and general manager, DuPont Crop Protection. "Just last month, DuPont announced registration of our Enlite(TM) and Envive(TM) herbicides for soybeans, and we expect to launch several new corn herbicides soon. We're building momentum on our strategy to give growers better answers faster than ever before."

Collins said that the Agility(TM) SG herbicide harnesses two patented, proprietary technologies from DuPont: homogeneous blends and DuPont(TM) TotalSol(R) soluble granules. The homogeneous blend technology enables DuPont to rapidly develop new herbicides with multiple active ingredients to respond to changing weed control issues. TotalSol(R) is a new formulation that dissolves completely for more consistent weed control and improved tank cleanout.

Agility(TM) SG controls more than 80 tough broadleaf weeds, including Russian thistle, pigweed and kochia, even ALS resistant species. Agility(TM) SG also is covered by the DuPont(TM) Crop Protection Plus(R) wheat program, which provides growers who purchase qualifying herbicides with product cost replacement if their crop is destroyed by drought, flood, frost/freeze, fire or hail.
