New Consumer Era Places Retailers at the Forefront of Participating in Shoppers' Health

TORRANCE, Calif., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Yakult U.S.A. Inc. will present an exclusive seminar for Natural Products Expo West attendees, "Shopping for Health: A New Era for Consumers" on Saturday, March 13 from 3:00 – 4:00 pm at the Anaheim Convention Center (Room 205B).  Research and marketing guru Caroline Gibbons, Founder and CEO of PortiCo Research, and nutrition expert Barbara Ruhs, R.D. at Bashas' Family of Stores, will examine why it is more important than ever for retailers to help their customers achieve optimal health and wellness. Using case studies of successful retail level nutrition programs, the seminar will delve into evolving customer needs and demands while identifying key ROI opportunities. This is a presentation retailers, buyers, dietitians and health organizations can not afford to miss. To register for the seminar, click here.

"The time has come for retailers to actively participate in their customers' health," says Barbara Ruhs, a former Harvard University dietitian and current director of the Eat Smart program at Bashas'. "I believe that supermarkets can be catalysts for curbing public health issues such as obesity and other lifestyle-related diseases, which puts them in a very powerful position."

"Through our firm's research, we have real-life evidence that consumers want to take the more proactive role in their health," says Caroline Gibbons. "This is a great opportunity for retailers to be a part of this new era for consumers at the ground floor."

Attendance to the presentation is free. Pre-registration is recommended since space is limited (click here to register). Interested attendees may also stop by the Yakult Booth (#4484) at Expo West this week to sign-up and learn more about Yakult's signature probiotic dairy drink.
