Date:6/17/2013

Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) June 17, 2013

Fresh off receiving more than 40,000 downloads AND the #1 Spot in Top Free iPad Book Apps during their recent Memorial Day promotion, the print edition of The Prisoner of Carrot Castle hit the Direct-to-Consumer market June 15th, brought to young readers aged 2 – 8 by the independent publishing partnership of Purple Carrot Books and Possibility Books.

For founder/author and wellness coach and blogger Chris Pedersen, her work with children’s healthy eating books is all about getting kids to learn good eating habits now, so they won’t face the life-altering cancer she fought off by changing her diet completely. Says Pedersen, “I have a passion for healthy eating and teaching others how to be healthy. Out of this passion, being a children’s writer and wishing to contribute to the fight against childhood obesity, I wrote The Prisoner of Carrot Castle.”

“If I can fight a genetic cancer and win, then people who don’t eat healthy can…(learn from me).” – Style Magazine, June 2012.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE APP:

“Each page is loaded with beautiful illustrations and interactive items that will keep your child entertained.” – APPADVICE.COM

“Most kids, even those who aren’t picky eaters will enjoy Aiden’s adventure. Helping Aiden slide through the vegetable-based walls of Carrot Castle was surprising and fun. Kids will enjoy feeding Aiden his carrots and broccoli as they read. More like dessert than a dreaded side dish, The Prisoner of Carrot Castle will appeal to a child’s insatiable appetite for entertainment. Recommended for kids aged 3 to 8-years-old.” – THEIMUM.COM

“Four Stars… Very Cute… Hours of fun and education for kids.” – Logic Lou

“Sweet… story … lend(s) itself well to students then creating their own stories with food. Also good for comparing and contrasting and critical thinking. Do you think a carrot (would) be a good materi
