New Book Examines the Role of Essential Oils in Taking on Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria and Superbugs, and is Available on Amazon
Date:4/26/2016

Antibiotic-resistant bacteria are still on the rise and have been declared one of the top public health concerns by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

Drug-resistant bacteria could cause more than 10 million deaths by 2050, and according to a CDC report *, 2 million people in the U.S. each year acquire infections that are resistant to antibiotics and sadly at least 23,000 die.

Essential oils have an important role to play with these bacteria, as examined in the new book "Essential Oils Have Super Powers®" now available on Amazon.

Heshelow writes about and covers the current and interesting clinical research that is ongoing, devoting one full chapter just to documented research. Chapter four of the book covers antibiotic resistant cases where treatment with essential oils (which are virtually anti-bacterial and anti-viral) have saved limbs that were otherwise destined for amputation due to infection. A case by Dr. Sherry of the University of Sydney is highlighted, and references are cited for interested readers to follow.

Essential oils are pure essences from plants which bring secondary metabolite powers and much more to us. They are highly concentrated, complex compounds that also happen to smell good, and work both with inhalation (aromatherapy) to the brain and topically.

The book cites interesting studies (both in vitro and in vivo) around the world and case after case of essential oils defeating MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylocococcus and newer families known as CRE and VRE.

The scientific reason WHY essential oils success where antibiotics fail is highlighted.

"I wrote this book because far too many people do not know what essential oils are, and how many problems they can solve naturally," says author Kathy Heshelow. "They have been used extensively throughout history, but are not well known today in the U.S. - and I explain why that is in the book, too."

Chapters cover: What are Essential Oils & Why Do They Have Super Powers?, Fascinating History of Aromatic Plants & Essential Oils, Clinical Research and Studies on Essential Oils, The Crisis of “Super Bugs”, Antibiotics and Essential Oils, Different Approaches to Essential Oils Around the World, Mind – Body – Spirit and Aromatherapy, The Magic of Extraction… and a Little Science (the Main Components in Oils Which Give Them Super Powers), My Top 15 Essential Oils, Some Simple & Helpful Blending Recipes + Typical Doses & Dilutions, Caring for Your Essential Oils.

The book is available in both Kindle and soft-copy and is 322 pages long.
