Content Focuses on How to Safely Enhance Athletic Performance

LAKE WYLIE, S.C., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Launched today as a resource for athletes, coaches, trainers and parents, the Trusted Supplement blog (http://www.trustedsupplement.com) aims to provide individuals with information necessary to help them make informed choices when it comes to taking or recommending supplements.

The Trusted Supplement blog is sponsored by Informed-Choice LLC, a not-for-profit partnership between supplement companies and a world-class, anti-doping laboratory. The blog will offer a mix of news, tips, commentary, industry insight and opinion in an approach to help people better manage the risks associated with taking supplements. While Informed-Choice will create most of the initial content, the organization hopes both the athletic and supplement communities will help make it a better resource through their individual commentary.

"Informed-Choice was built on the foundation of partnership -- a trade effort of supplement companies coming together to recognize problems within their own industry and proactively take action," said Kelly Hoffman, executive director, Informed-Choice. "The Trusted Supplement blog provides an open forum for all interested parties to join in discussions on supplements and how to use them safely and legally to enhance athletic performance."

Guest commentary will include insight from nutritionists, physicians, academics and leading supplement manufacturers. For the latest commentary, visit the new blog at http://www.trustedsupplement.com.
