BUTLER, N.J., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- World Gourmet Marketing, LLC, creator of the Sensible Portions brand, is teaming with the Nets to provide healthier snack alternatives at the concession stands of the IZOD CENTER.
At a time when obesity is a national concern, the Nets are recognizing the need to provide fans with healthier in-game snacking options. The offerings include: World Gourmet's Sensible Portions Multi Grain Crisps, which are baked, all natural, and contain no trans fat, and are also available in Sea Salt and Cheddar flavors. Sensible Portions 90 Calorie Multi Grain Crisps in Apple Cinnamon are also included in kids meals.
"We want to drive home the importance of eating healthy and staying active on a daily basis, just as the Nets players do," said Jason Cohen, President of World Gourmet Marketing. "Fans emulate the Nets and it's important for admirers to know that the athletes work hard to stay in shape, which includes a healthy lifestyle and portion control. Having our snack options available at the IZOD CENTER is a good opportunity for parents and kids to learn that you don't have to sacrifice flavor for something that is better for you."
"We are thrilled to partner with World Gourmet Marketing and to be able to offer a healthy snack option for our fans at the games," said Chris Brahe, Vice President of Corporate Sales for the Nets. "Proper nutrition is an essential part of our players' success and we are proud to be able to help communicate that message to all of our fans."
In addition to Sensible Portions products being distributed to all events throughout the arena, Sensible Portions will sponsor Kids Night on January 17, when the Nets host the defending NBA Champion, the Boston Celtics. Sensible Portions will also sponsor Nets mascot Sly's birthday on March 1, when the team hosts the New Orleans Hornets.
