New online option for CPR training available to healthcare professionals

DALLAS and CLIFTON PARK, N.Y., Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- NetLearning, a leading provider of e-Learning solutions for healthcare training and part of Cengage Learning, today announced it will offer a portion of initial or renewal certification for the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) online via NetLearning's Learning Management Systems.

The course, BLS for Healthcare Providers Part 1, delivers the cognitive learning portion of the association's certification training through web-based, self paced modules, now directly available to over 500 healthcare organizations and more than one million learners nationwide currently using a NetLearning LMS.

With the online component completed at the learner's convenience, Authorized American Heart Association Training Centers with a NetLearning LMS will now be able to increase and improve the variety and quality of their BLS training initiatives for healthcare professionals via a blended learning solution.

"Blended learning has evolved as a truly integrated approach to increase comprehension and optimize learner retention via a program of multiple interactive media types and traditional instructor-led training," said Cathy Esperti, Vice President, NetLearning. "In fact, studies have shown that a blended approach to BLS and CPR training results in better outcomes. The American Heart Association's requirement for learners to complete hands-on skills components in order for learners to receive their healthcare provider course completion card creates a unique need in professional healthcare training that NetLearning is very excited to support."
