HAP offers a free informational DVD and workshops

DETROIT, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Understanding Medicare just got a little easier. During the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, Medicare beneficiaries struggle to understand their current coverage and whether to select different coverage options. Detroit-based Health Alliance Plan (HAP) will provide a free DVD to anyone seeking information about Medicare and how to approach making the annual decision. Thousands of beneficiaries also will receive plenty of individual attention in local workshops.

"Making Medicare Work for You" DVD

HAP's new "Making Medicare Work for You" DVD offers helpful information. Local experts, including a physician, a pharmacist and a representative from the Area Agency on Aging 1-B Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program, explain the basics of Medicare, options for extra coverage, how to choose a plan and more. "Making Medicare Work for You" also explains the "A-B-C-s" of Medicare, what Original Medicare doesn't cover, and what to do when your employer cancels your retiree health benefits. The DVD also covers the importance of preventive services and managing chronic conditions.
