Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc. (NTC) Volunteers with Homeless Emergency Project During Holiday Season, Serves Tampa Bay’s Hungry Population
Date:12/9/2013

Palm Harbor, FL (PRWEB) December 09, 2013

Approximately 17 percent of Hillsborough County’s population is considered hungry, leaving their basic nutritional needs unmet (1). Nationwide Title Clearing, Inc., a leading document research and post-closing services provider for the residential mortgage industry, has responded to the local hunger epidemic by feeding the hungry in conjunction with Homeless Emergency Project (HEP). NTC employees will volunteer at the HEP kitchen on Dec. 21, as they have every month for the past three years.

Founded in 1986, HEP is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission of providing homeless and low-income individuals and families with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and an improved quality of life. The hunger epidemic has affected the Tampa Bay community heavily (2):

•One in four children in Hillsborough County struggles with hunger;
•73,280 children in the county are deemed “hunger insecure” —their bodies fail to receive the necessary amount of nutrition and they often miss critical meals.

John Hillman, CEO of NTC, says helping the community has been a part of NTC’s culture from its inception, particularly during the holiday season when the need is so strong. The hunger epidemic has served as a catalyst for many NTC employees to regularly volunteer in the HEP kitchen each month, thereby continuing a years-long tradition of contributing to the organization. To date, NTC has logged a total of 128 employee volunteer hours over the past three years with HEP.

Hillman said all business owners should strive to uphold a positive impact on the communities in which they reside – Hillman and his staff remain involved in helping the community by regularly hosting and attending affairs such as blood, food and toy drives, as well as local fundraising events for cancer research and similar efforts.

“The Homeless Emergency Project is one of the largest support organizations in our community – many families rely on its resources to make it through hard times,” Hillman said. “HEP’s practice of helping families survive and providing a strong, familial support system, is an initiative that NTC is honored to encourage.”

NTC employees regularly join local community events and the company has participated in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Palm Harbor event for four consecutive years, amassing a collective lifetime fundraising total of over $43,000 to date.

NTC specializes in building customized service solutions, such as lien release services, document retrieval and assignment services. Its clients include eight of the 10 largest residential mortgage servicers in the country. For more information about NTC and its mortgage services, visit http://www.nwtc.com.
