Acton, MA (PRWEB) November 12, 2008 -- MyCareTeam, Inc., a leading vendor of Internet-based diabetes management software MCT-Diabetes, has announced that nationally-recognized diabetes specialist Dr. Steven Edelman will contribute his diabetes insight and guidance in a regularly scheduled online column to the MyCareTeam diabetes community.

Dr. Edelman is Founder and Director of Taking Control of Your Diabetes, a not-for-profit diabetes education organization dedicated to informing and empowering people with diabetes to take an active role in their condition. The organization serves people with diabetes, their loved ones and those at risk for diabetes through a national series of educational conferences, local programs, an educational television series, as well as printed and online publications and materials. He has written 2 books and more than 100 publications, including articles and abstracts that have been published in such journals as American Journal of Physiology, Diabetes, and Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. Edelman is also Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of California, San Diego. In addition, Dr. Edelman is Director of the Diabetes Care Clinic at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Diego.
