National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association Offers Functional Training Specialist Program with Focus on Great Form, Function and Fitness
Date:3/24/2013

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (PRWEB) March 24, 2013

Functional training can make the difference between first place and second, between being able to pick up your child or groceries pain-free and a tweaked back, between good posture and a hunched, rounded spine. To that end, the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association’s (NESTA) online Functional Training Specialist program focuses on proper movement to help clients achieve better performance, health and long-term function. Available online at http://www.nestacertified.com/functional-training-fitness-program/, the Functional Training Specialist program from NESTA focuses on the safe use of exercises which involve complex, multi-joint movements of the upper body, core and lower body in each exercise.

The goal of proper functional fitness training is to improve both performance and physical appearance without ever sacrificing safety or quality.

“Some personal training programs sacrifice functionality to focus solely on aesthetics, creating imbalances and often leading to injuries. Just because the body CAN move in a given direction doesn’t mean that it should be reinforced through repetitive movement, explosive speed or heavy loads—functional training, then, teaches you safe, sound and successful principles for great, healthy movement patterns to last a lifetime,” said John Spencer Ellis, founder of NESTA.

The specialized online training from NESTA focuses on the foundations of functional training, performing functional assessments and learning more about injuries and solutions, functional exercise programming and functional business success to help personal trainers increase their income potential and business growth.

In addition, the Functional Training Specialist program is available at a discounted rate as part of the Master Per
