Narconon Arrowhead Sends Assistance to Relief Efforts in Oklahoma

(PRWEB) June 14, 2013

The month of May was a brutal one for Oklahoma residents, as four tornados struck during severe thunderstorms. Three of them were killer storms resulting in thirty-four deaths and scores of injuries. The property damage of storms like these can be measured but the emotional pain suffered by those in the path of tornados has no limit. To help provide a strong back and clear mind in the relief effort, Narconon Arrowhead drug education specialist Niko Bain left the classroom behind to help clean up the destruction in the Shawnee area.

Niko joined a team of Volunteer Ministers from the Church of Scientology who were already on site. Together, they helped distribute food, water, clothes and other supplies from the Absentee-Shawnee Relief Center in Little Axe, Oklahoma. On Wednesday, June 13, Niko was wielding a chain saw to help a homeowner clear the yard of trees destroyed by the first tornado to pass through Oklahoma.

"These folks know that I'm from Narconon Arrowhead," Niko said, "and I've been able to offer further help in the form of drug education classes for the Absentee-Shawnee tribal police, and for local schools and the tribe itself. So I'll be back to help in another way after these relief efforts are complete."

George Blanchard, Governor of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe, stood in the middle of one of the tribal relief centers holding a bottle of water when he was interviewed by Niko. He said, "I want to thank Narconon for sending volunteers and helping us out during our disaster."

"I normally stand in front of the classroom talking to kids about staying off drugs," said Niko. "It's great to get out with people in the community one-on-one and give them a different kind of help - a type they really need right now."
