Date:10/8/2008

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) is endorsing Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR), a one-term incumbent representing Arkansas, for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Bruce Roberts, RPh, executive vice president and CEO of NCPA, issued the following statement:

"Senator Mark Pryor is a powerful advocate for Arkansas and America's community pharmacies and the patients they serve. That is why the National Community Pharmacists Association strongly endorses him for re-election to the U.S. Senate."

"Sen. Pryor is a proven leader in Arkansas, who recognizes the importance of bolstering healthcare resources for his constituents. We encourage the voters in his state to make the wise choice and return him to the Senate again with their votes on November 4th."

The National Community Pharmacists Association, founded in 1898, represents the nation's community pharmacists, including the owners of more than 23,000 pharmacies. The nation's independent pharmacies, independent pharmacy franchises, and independent chains dispense nearly half of the nation's retail prescription medicines.
