NCPA Endorses Rep. Walter Jones for Re-Election
Date:4/10/2008

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --- The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) is endorsing Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.), a seven-term incumbent representing North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District, who has been a powerful advocate for fixing the problems facing community pharmacies and their patients. He is facing a challenger in the North Carolina primary that occurs on May 6. Bruce Roberts, RPh, executive vice president and CEO of NCPA issued the following statement:

"The National Community Pharmacists Association wholeheartedly endorses Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) for re-election to North Carolina's 3rd Congressional District. Rep. Jones supports practical solutions for the challenges facing North Carolina's community pharmacies and it's with his help that they continue to provide health care services to patients.

Rep. Jones is a proven leader in North Carolina and represents his constituents well in Washington, D.C. We know the voters in his district will make the wise choice and return him to Congress again this year so he can continue to represent their interests well."

The National Community Pharmacists Association, founded in 1898, represents the nation's community pharmacists, including the owners of more than 23,000 pharmacies. The nation's independent pharmacies, independent pharmacy franchises, and independent chains dispense nearly half of the nation's retail prescription medicines.
