BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, today announced that it has signed an agreement with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy(R) (NABP(R)) to be the exclusive test delivery provider of the computer-based Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE(R)). Beginning April 14, 2009, these exams will be delivered throughout the secure Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of Pearson Professional Centers in the United States and its territories.
NABP assists its member boards and jurisdictions in developing, implementing, and enforcing uniform standards for the purpose of protecting the public health. Accepted by the 50 state boards of pharmacy, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the Virgin Islands, the FPGEE is one component used to assess the competence of applicants seeking Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Examination Committee(TM) (FPGEC(R)) certification. The FPGEE is a means of documenting the educational equivalency of an applicant's foreign pharmacy education. Foreign-educated pharmacists awarded FPGEC certification are considered to have partially fulfilled eligibility requirements for licensure in those states that accept the certification.
"Utilizing a computerized test delivery format for all three NABP examinations will greatly streamline our data flow for those individuals required to take multiple tests, while helping our programs become more efficient," said Rich Palombo, NABP President.
"We are honored that NABP has entrusted us with the delivery of another high-stakes professional exam," said Robert Whelan, president of Pearson VUE. "Our solid track record and commitment to customer service are why NABP chose Pearson VUE, and we will continue to deliver on that promise."
