Joint Venture Brings Enhanced Technology, Security to Portable Medical Records

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- My Medical Memory (M3) and Data Systems Analysts (DSA) are pleased to announce a strategic partnership which will result in providing customers with even higher levels of security and portable capability in handling critical medical records.

My Medical Memory's flagship product is a physician-designed system to obtain, store and manage a patient's personal medical records on a flash drive. This helps patients carry their crucial, life-saving medical records everywhere they go, with access whenever and wherever they need it. The brainchild of two Arizona-based physicians and one businesswoman with a background in medical records management, My Medical Memory is a key step in helping healthcare professionals provide the best care possible.

Now, with the technological expertise that DSA brings, the two companies jointly can offer members the same level of security demanded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Security Agency, and other government agencies. Together, DSA and My Medical Memory are developing SmartCard applications that allow secure online record storage and retrieval, with authentication systems that will stringently protect patient privacy while still allowing authorized access to lifesaving healthcare information when needed.

"Healthcare is the next frontier for sophisticated technology applications and high-level security," says Charles Cooks, DSA's Vice President for Intel, Civil and National Security Programs. "We can offer nearly unlimited capability in terms of joining health records, physician networks, and even government programs like Medicare and Social Security. Imagine a nationwide healthcare network, with instantaneous, secure access. The potential for enhanced quality of life, and, in fact, saving lives, is enormous."

"We knew that people would benefit from being able to provide complete, immediate information to their doctors," adds Mary Mazza, D.O. and one of My Medical Memory's founding partners. "But this partnership goes far beyond that; it's an answer to problems that are cropping up not just for individuals, but in the hospital, with insurance companies, even in the government with processing disability claims."

My Medical Memory is private, portable, updateable, and now, with the added benefit of DSA's decades of experience in the highly regulated government IT field, even more secure. The joint product offering is expected to be available to individuals, hospitals, insurance companies, corporations and government as early as Spring 2009.
