Muscular Development Store Comments on the Top 10 Pre-workout foods and the Importance of Carbohydrates in a Pre-Workout Meal
Date:3/13/2013

Setauket, NY (PRWEB) March 13, 2013

On March 13, 2013, Muscular Development Store releases a statement following an AskMen article regarding the top 10 pre-workout foods and why carbohydrates are a considered a key ingredient in them.

According to AskMen, in order for a person to maximize their workout, they need to eat beforehand. Carbohydrates are a big part of any pre-workout meal, but being able to choose the right ones is what’s important. All of the pre-workout foods in the article use carbohydrates, but focus on low-glycemic carbs instead of simple sugars.

AskMen reports that, “Research has established that carbohydrate intake during exercise delays the onset of fatigue and improves endurance exercise performance.

This happens because carbs enhance the availability of blood glucose to active muscle. Roughly 70% of the energy in your pre-workout meal should come from carbs, but choose low-glycemic carbs like oatmeal, veggies or sweet potatoes instead of simple sugars or candy to avoid wild fluctuations in your blood-sugar levels.”

Foods suggested by AskMen include veggie omelets, turkey leaf wraps and homemade protein bars.

Brian Turner, representative of the Muscular Development Store, commented on the top 10 pre-workout foods, and the importance of carbohydrates. “This list has a great variety, and focuses on the most important aspects of a pre-workout food.
Carbohydrates play a major role in pre-workout foods, and are essential for fueling the body.”

Turner adds that pairing a healthy diet with supplements can help improve overall well-being and provide faster results towards an individual’s workout goals. “Your diet is the most important part of any workout regimen. Treat your body good and get great results.”

A good fitness regimen must be augmented with proper nutrition. At the Muscular Development Store, we offer products to enhance your workout and maximize the fitness benefits of your routine.
