Alleged Shape-Ups Safety Problems & Injury Reports
According to court documents, “the health risks of Skechers outweigh the absence of any benefit provided to [individuals who wear Shape-Ups].” Furthermore, court documents allege that Skechers purposely misrepresented the health benefits of these toning shoes (http://www.nbcnews.com/business/skechers-pay-40-million-over-deceptive-ads-775405) and failed to conduct sufficient safety testing on Shape-Ups. In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received more reports of Skechers toning shoe injuries than injury reports for any other product in its database (as of May 2011). Skechers Stress Fracture Lawsuits
The complaints for all of these stress fracture cases argue that regularly wearing Shape-Ups for even as little as six months caused the plaintiffs to suffer from painful stress fractures in their feet and lower legs due to the dangerous design of these toning shoes.

In fact, four of these Skechers injury lawsuits are related to stress fractures in the feet. An Alabama woman (Case No. 3:13-cv-00111), a Mississippi woman (Case No. 3:13-cv-00135) and an Ohio woman (Case No. 3:13-cv-00099) have filed Skechers lawsuits alleging that they suffered from various types of stress fractures in their left feet after regularly wearing Shape-Ups for less than one year. A complaint filed by an Ohio woman (Case No. 3:13-cv-00107) contends that the plaintiff sustained a stress fracture in the heel of her right foot after wearing Shape-Ups while she worked.
