Leading International Health Insurance Provider Launches New Name

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) July 15, 2009 -- HCC Medical Insurance Services is pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2009, MultiNational Underwriters® (MNU) has adopted the HCC name to operate as HCC Medical Insurance Services (HCCMIS), bringing increased financial security to the Company's portfolio and its clients.

Since its inception as MultiNational Underwriters® in 1998, MNU has been a leading provider of international medical insurance. The Company's principal focus has been to provide insurance products to individuals and groups living, working and traveling outside their home countries. In late 2007, MNU added a domestic short term medical plan to its portfolio. This has allowed the Company to also focus on the growing needs and opportunities in the US domestic insurance market.

In January, 2008, MNU was acquired by HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: HCC), a leading international specialty insurance group with offices across the United States and in Bermuda, Spain, Ireland and the United Kingdom. HCC specializes in diversified financial products; group life, accident & health; general aviation; property; marine and energy; and other specialty insurance. HCC has assets of $8.6 billion, shareholders' equity of $2.7 billion and is rated AA (Very Strong) by Standard & Poor's and AA (Very Strong) by Fitch Ratings. In addition, HCC's major domestic insurance companies are rated A+ (Superior) by A.M. Best Company.

The expertise and financial strength of its parent company render HCC Medical Insurance Services well equipped to continue growing its position in both the international and domestic marketplace. The Company's growth also depends on its dedicated employees, who provide customer service from its headquarters in Indianapolis, IN and its Latin American / Caribbea
