In addition to the 2-for-1 training offer, employers also can benefit from training package discounts. For public calendar classes, a six-class commitment entitles the employer to a 10 percent discount, and provides training for three DFSD clients. Eighteen classes result in a 15 percent discount and training for nine women, while a 36-class commitment entitles the employer to a 20 percent discount, and provides training for 18 disadvantaged women.

For private training classes, employers receive a 10 percent discount for six classes (trains 27 disadvantaged women), a 15 percent savings for 12 classes (trains 54 disadvantaged women), and a 20 percent discount for 24 classes (trains 108 disadvantaged women).

“Through this program, it’s possible for private employers to quite literally train an entire workforce of disadvantaged women,” notes MCS Training Director Jenny Douras. “With the attire that Dress for Success Denver provides, this program offers a total solution to help get out-of-work people employed in meaningful positions.”

Douras says she hopes this partnership will provide “substantial growth of a program that already serves 1,200 people annually and finds employment for more than a third of them. Ongoing computer training can help this organization’s clients keep—as well as get promoted within—their jobs, making this a gift that keeps on giving.”

DFSD Executive Director Donna Deteau adds that keeping women gainfully employed also means gains for the overall economy. “Women are responsible for 83% of all consumer purchases in this country. Locally, every dollar donated to Dress for Success Denver creates a value of $1.58 in the Denver economy,” Deteau notes.
