New business unit, building on the success of Mirixa Corporation in the U.S., makes clinical technology to power pharmacist-delivered services available nationwide in Australia

GOLD COAST, Queensland, Australia, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Mirixa Corporation, a U.S. leader in pharmacy-based patient care services and the Pharmacy Guild of Australia announced today the launch of Mirixa Australia at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference and Trade Exhibition. Mirixa Australia, a newly formed business venture is operated by the Guild's healthlinks.net subsidiary.

The Guild will deploy the MirixaPro(SM) web-based clinical platform, adapted by Mirixa Corporation for the Australia market, and made available under a nationwide license. Its first phase of deployment will bring to market programs designed to improve medication adherence and outcomes by harnessing both technology and the power of the pharmacist-patient relationship.

"Truly achieving better long-term medication adherence is the holy grail in pharmaceutical care," said Kos Sclavos, National President of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. "Pharmacists are ideally positioned to help patients - especially those with chronic disease - get the most from their medications. When they do so, everyone wins. We achieve better outcomes at a lower cost. We're pleased to be working with our colleagues at Mirixa in the U.S. to achieve this shared global vision for improving healthcare through pharmacy," added Mr. Sclavos.

"We're thrilled to be working with the innovators and leaders at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia," said Rick Solano, Mirixa's Chief Executive Officer. "We see growing evidence and recognition globally that a fully integrated and effective healthcare system is one where pharmacists are actively engaged in patient care. We commend our colleagues at the Guild for reaching this key milestone on the road to achieving this share
