Mirena Lawsuits Move Forward, as Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Upcoming Conferences in State, Federal Mirena Litigations

Mirena lawsuits (http://www.mirenaiud-lawsuit.com/) filed on behalf of women who suffered uterine perforations and other serious injuries allegedly due to spontaneous migration of the Mirena IUD are continuing to move forward in courts throughout the country, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to court documents, conferences will be held next week in the consolidated state and federal litigations currently underway for Mirena IUD lawsuits. The first will be conducted on August 13th at 2:00 p.m. in New Jersey’s Bergen County Superior Court. (In Re: Mirena Litigation; Case No. 297) The following day, a second conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. in U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, where federally-filed Mirena claims have been consolidated for pretrial proceedings. (In re: Mirena IUD Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2434)

“We are pleased to see these litigations moving forward. We are actively filing Mirena lawsuits on behalf of women who suffered serious injuries, some of which required surgical removal of the device, allegedly due to spontaneous migration of the IUD,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is currently offering free legal evaluations to alleged victims of serious Mirena complications.

Mirena IUD Lawsuits
The Mirena IUD was approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) as a contraceptive in 2000, and its approved uses were later expanded to include treatment of heavy menstrual bleeding in women who wish to use an IUD as their primary method of birth control. In 2009, Bayer received an
