Mirena Lawsuit News: Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Establishment of Mirena Side Effects Litigation in New Jersey Superior Court, Issuance of First Case Management Order
Date:5/29/2013

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 29, 2013

Mirena lawsuit claims filed in the state of New Jersey have been consolidated in a Multicounty Litigation and transferred to Bergen County Superior Court, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to a Notice to the Bar dated May 24, 2013, the New Jersey Supreme Court has assigned the Mirena side effect claims to Superior Court Judge Brian R. Martinotti. Court records indicate that Judge Martinotti has already issued the litigation’s first Case Management Order, which schedules an initial Conference for June 17, 2013. (In Re: Mirena Litigation; Case No. 297)

“We continue to hear from numerous women who have suffered serious complications, allegedly due to the Mirena IUD, and expect a large number of filings. A consolidated litigation will provide an efficient means of litigating these claims,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm is currently offering free Mirena IUD lawsuit consultations to alleged victims of this birth control device.

Mirena Side Effect Lawsuits
Court documents indicate that at least 60 Mirena side effects claims had been filed in New Jersey courts as of March 2013. All of the Mirena IUD lawsuits allege the device migrated away from its original position in the uterus, leading to uterine perforations and other serious injuries. Plaintiffs further allege Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals failed to provide adequate warnings regarding the risk of device migration and related Mirena complications such as uterine perforations.

Dozens of Mirena lawsuits have also been filed in federal courts throughout the U.S. On April
