Minnesota Hospital Association Elects, Re-Elects Members to Board

CentraCare president is new chair

ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Minnesota Hospital Association, which represents Minnesota's hospitals and health systems, recently elected or re-elected the following members to its board for 2010:

    Chair - Terence Pladson, M.D., president, CentraCare Health System,
     St. Cloud
    Chair-elect - Mary Klimp, CEO, Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague
    Secretary/treasurer - David Cress, president and CEO, North Memorial
     Health Care, Robbinsdale

    Re-elected as at-large member:
    Benjamin Koppelman, president and CEO, St. Joseph's Area Health
     Services, Park Rapids

    Re-elected as a trustee director:
    Steven Laraway, trustee, St. Cloud Hospital

    Trustee director:
    James Morris, trustee, Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague

    Regional directors:
    (Region 2) Jeffry Stampohar, CEO, Deer River HealthCare Center; and
    (Region 4) Bradley Beard, president, Fairview Southdale Hospital,

The association depends on robust leadership from its board members, said MHA President and CEO Lorry Massa.

"These officers are highly qualified to help work with the rest of the board to address the challenges facing health care in our state," Massa said. "We know their insights and dedication will only add to Minnesota's tradition for health care excellence."

The complete 2010 board roster is available at The 30-member board comprises officers, standing directors, at-large directors, regional directors and trustee directors. Most members serve two three-year terms.

The Minnesota Hospital Association is a trade association representing Minnesota's hospitals and health systems.
