Mindray Donates Cash and Equipment for Sichuan Earthquake Relief

SHENZHEN, China, May 29 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mindray Medical International Limited (NYSE: MR), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide, today announced the company and its employees have together made cash donations of over RMB1.0 million through the Red Cross Society of China to help support the Sichuan earthquake disaster relief. In addition, Mr. Xu Hang and Mr. Li Xiting, Mindray's co-chief executive officers, together donated a combined value of over RMB3.2 million in high-quality, portable multi-parameter patient monitoring devices, which they purchased from the company at distributor list prices.

On May 12, 2008, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the city of Wenchuan, in southwestern China's Sichuan province, destroying homes, offices and factories and killing tens of thousands of people. Immediately following the earthquake, Mindray management donated urgently needed medical equipment and called on its employees to join together in raising money to donate to the relief efforts.
