Date:5/4/2009

INDIANAPOLIS, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Indiana Health Group (IHG) announced today Angela LaSalle, M.D., Integrative Medicine, will be joining its clinical staff at the Carmel office located at 703 Pro-Med Lane.

For further information about Dr. LaSalle or Indiana Health Group, visit the web sites http://www.indianahealthgroup.net or http://www.angelalasallemd.com.

A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. LaSalle is board certified in Family Medicine with a fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona, a program founded by Andrew Weil, M.D. Hailing from Fort Wayne, IN, Dr. LaSalle's focus has been in the field of Endocrinology, with special emphasis on the interplay of hormones, nutrition and lifestyle on the balance of the neurotransmitters and the immune system. She is the recipient of Fort Wayne Newspaper's 2008 Readers Choice award for Best Physician, and is thrilled that she will be able to broaden her range of services by relocating to Indianapolis.

"Treatment of mood and concentration problems with the appropriate medications is vital, but we also need to rule out underlying hormonal and metabolic issues to optimize our patient's response to therapy," states Dr. LaSalle. "We cannot underestimate the effect of nutrition and hormones on the brain chemistry. The body cannot make neurotransmitters without the appropriate building blocks."

Dr. LaSalle's practice includes treatment and evaluation of hormonal issues related to thyroid, metabolic syndrome and bio-identical hormone replacement. A strong believer that inflammation is the underlying cause of many diseases, she also incorporates nutritional supplementation and stress management into her treatment arsenal. Dr. Chris Bojrab, president of IHG, is excited about adding these services. "Over the past five to ten years, we have developed a much greater understanding of the relationship between psychiatric conditions, hormonal activity, inflammation, and immune system function. We are very excited to be able to offer our patients both comprehensive evaluation and cutting-edge, integrated treatment options. We believe that this approach will provide our patients with the best chance of optimizing both their physical and mental health."

Dr. LaSalle is currently accepting appointments to begin June 29th, 2009. To schedule an appointment, please call 317-843-9922.
