Milkscreen Home Test for Alcohol in Breast Milk Begins Nationwide Sales at Walgreens

AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- UpSpring Baby(TM) today announced that its Milkscreen(TM) home test for alcohol in breast milk is now available for purchase over-the-counter at over 6,000 Walgreens drugstores across the U.S. Walgreens is the nation's largest drugstore chain and the first brick and mortar drugstore to carry the Milkscreen home test. Milkscreen is also available for purchase through other leading national retailers and independents.

The American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) recommends that women exclusively breastfeed their infants for the first six months and support breastfeeding for the first year and beyond if mutually desired by mother and child. For women that want to partake in occasional alcohol use during this extended period of time, Milkscreen provides a valuable tool to tell them when it is best to breastfeed baby after consuming alcohol. To perform the test, a woman simply expresses a few drops of breast milk onto the Milkscreen test strip and in less than two minutes the color will begin to change if there is alcohol in the breast milk.
