Orlando, FL (Vocus) November 18, 2008 -- The largest modeling and simulation exhibition event ever held will feature top leaders from the cutting edge of M&S technology. Speaking at the opening ceremonies of the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) will be General William S. Wallace, head of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Joining him will be Daniel J. Crowley, Executive Vice President of the Lockheed Martin Joint Strike Fighter Program.

A combat veteran, Gen. Wallace served in Vietnam and again in Iraq as V Corps commander. A former Commander of the Army’s National Training Center, and later the Joint Warfighting Center, General Wallace attended both the Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth and the Naval War College in Newport. Among his many awards and decorations are the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

TRADOC is comprised of more than 50,000 soldiers and civilians operating in 33 schools across sixteen installations.

As Executive Vice President of the Joint Strike Fighter Program, Dan Crowley is responsible for the successful completion of the F-35 system’s Design and Development Program, transition to full rate production, and sustainment of three F-35 variants for 13 military services in nine partner countries. Previously, Dan was President, Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training and Support, where he led a 2,700 person team focused on mission readiness. Lockheed-Martin’s STS is the largest Department of Defense provider of training – supporting flight, naval, ground and maintenance training. Dan holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also received an M.S. in Management from Stanford University as a Sloan Fellow.

The 2008 Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference will cover almost 200,000 net square feet at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center. Over 575 exhibitors will attend the event, scheduled for December 1-4. On display will be modeling and simulation technology of all kinds, from medical applications to serious games to predictive structural, weather and natural disaster applications. Virtual reality and totally immersive virtual worlds will also be a major part of I/IITSEC 08.
