Microsoft to Showcase Clinical Trial Solutions From Discovery to Approvals at Drug Information Association's 2009 Annual Meeting

    What:       At the Drug Information Association's (DIA) 45th Annual
                Meeting in San Diego, Microsoft Corp. will showcase Microsoft
                and partner solutions designed for the life sciences industry,
                such as these:

                * Trial Launch and Protocol Authoring With the 2007 Microsoft
                  Office System
                  - Microsoft will demo clinical trial support solutions that
                    enable life sciences companies to manage content and
                    processes supporting regulatory requirements such as Part
                    11 of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Built
                    on the Microsoft Office system, these solutions allow
                    clinical trial managers to streamline reporting and
                    analysis processes and enhance monitoring, resulting in
                    increased efficiency, lower costs and improved clinical
                    performance.
                * Clinical Trials Execution Using Microsoft Office
                  SharePoint Server
                  - Microsoft will highlight several partner solutions built
                    on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and the
                    Microsoft Office system that assist in streamlining
                    clinical trial processes from grant writing to electronic
                    data capture and reporting. These solutions also help
                    clinical trials managers improve cross-functional team
                    collaboration.
                * Clinical Trials Analysis With Microsoft Amalga Life
                  Sciences 2009
                  - Microsoft will showcase a new technology solution that
                    enables research and development organizations to promote
                    discovery and transformation of biological insights into
                    open clinical practice to evolve the research enterprise.
