Date:7/17/2013

Southfield, Michigan (PRWEB) July 18, 2013

The Michigan personal injury lawyers of the law firm of Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. would like to congratulate Tiffane King on being the awarded winner to their $2,000 first annual 2013 Law School Diversity Scholarship!

This is the first year the personal injury and accident law firm is offering the scholarship, however, Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. is planning on offering the Law School Diversity Scholarship next year to law school students.

“We were so thrilled to be able to offer this Diversity scholarship. The idea behind the scholarship was for students to illustrate how they promote ethnic diversity with their law degree and exemplify its importance. Here at Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. we understand the significance of a diverse environment, and how important it is for staff to be able to work effectively in such an environment. Understanding ethnic diversity and how to work together not only promotes positivity but also enhances productivity and creativity. The awarded student we choose truly exemplifies an exceptional example of positively utilizing their law degree to promote such an important issue,” says Partner and Attorney Lawrence J. Buckfire.

Tiffane King has already completed her first year of law school at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. Within that first year, she helped engineer the Disability Right Society, which encourages individuals with disabilities to enter the legal profession, and has become a part of the Black Law Students Association. She is active in contributing to the diversity of her law school student body and has achieved excellent academic records.

Students who applied for the Buckfire Law School Diversity Scholarship must have been a member of an ethnic or racial minority, or any individual who demonstrates a defined commitment to issues of diversity within their academic career, a U.S. citizen currently attending an accredited law school within the United States, and an academic achievement as reflected by a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed at least one semester of classes at an accredited law school.

Applicants had to submit a completed Scholarship Application form, a one-page typed essay describing how well they utilized their law degree to promote ethnic diversity, as well as a certified copy of law school transcript.
