Michael Beland Named as OrthoSynetics(TM) Corporate Controller

Accounting Veteran Bolsters Financial Team

METAIRIE, La., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- OrthoSynetics(TM), the largest provider of business services to orthodontic and dental practices worldwide, has named Michael P. Beland as Corporate Controller. In this capacity, Beland will be responsible for all aspects of the Company's accounting, tax, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

Prior to joining OrthoSynetics(TM), Beland served as Director -- Accounting Research and Policy of The Shaw Group Inc.(R), a Fortune 500 company based in Baton Rouge, La. While at Shaw Group, Beland also oversaw compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards.

Prior to joining Shaw Group, Beland served with several international accounting and consulting firms including: PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Grant Thornton LLP and Arthur Andersen LLP. He received a B.S./B.A in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Beland continued his education at the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned an M.P.A. -- Concentration in Accounting, minor in M.B.A. Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi.
