Metropolitan Hosts Informational Meetings in Nas...( NEW YORK Sept. 17 /- Metropolitan...),Health

NEW YORK, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Metropolitan Jewish Hospice (MJH) and Metropolitan Jewish Palliative Care (MJPC) recently hosted informational meetings in Nassau County, as part of their continued expansion into that region. Since early 2007, MJH and MJPC have been establishing a presence in several Nassau County facilities in order to offer their landmark services to a new demographic. These presentations are the latest step in that expansion.

On August 24, 2007 staff members from MJH visited South Nassau Communities Hospital, where they offered a general information session for more than 40 physicians about the breadth of services offered by MJH and MJPC. MJH and MJPC have recently begun offering services at the hospital. MJH offers emotional and physical support to those facing the end of life, while MJPC offers treatment to patients with life-altering illnesses at any stage of their disease.

A similar session was held at Park Avenue Extended Care, a skilled nursing facility where MJH also has a presence. Physicians at the facility learned more about the care and treatment options offered by MJH and MJPC.

Additionally, a recruitment session for potential volunteers was held on the same day in the Nassau community. Nearly 40 interested local residents attended that session to find out more about the rewarding experience of volunteering for MJH and MJPC.
