Broadlane to provide contract portfolio and capital equipment services

Dallas, TX (Vocus) April 7, 2009 -- Broadlane announced today that MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, Illinois has selected Broadlane as the exclusive provider of a broad range of supply chain services to help manage its approximate $25 million in annual spend.

MetroSouth Medical Center will access Broadlane's unparalleled national GPO portfolio of consumable supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals and purchased services. Additionally, MetroSouth will utilize OnRamp™ (Broadlane's client portal) to access contract and vendor information, run reports, view Broadlane news and information and download training and continuing education.

"We knew Broadlane was the correct choice when we learned that MetroSouth will receive the same contract pricing, service and benefits as Broadlane's large IDN clients," said Arnie Kimmel, chief executive officer, MetroSouth Medical Center. "Broadlane has an exceptional track record of delivering supply chain process improvements and considerable savings opportunities in many areas, along with unmatched account management support."

MetroSouth will also utilize Broadlane's Capital Equipment Services, including Live Group Buys and Quote Review where price, warranty and term information is verified for accuracy. Broadlane client hospitals saved approximately 25 percent and up to three months of research and negotiation time on new computed tomography (CT) scanners through participation at a recent Broadlane Live Group Buy.

"We are pleased to welcome MetroSouth Medical Center as a Broadlane client," said Julie Plaga, senior vice president - new business development, Broadlane. "They ran a thorough process to determine the best solution for delivering the supply chain improvements and cost reduction strategies they needed. We're confident that the custom solutions we developed will drive the sustainable savings and operational improvements they are seeking."

"MetroSouth Medical Center is a great fit for Broadlane," said David Ricker, president and chief executive officer, Broadlane. "We don't differentiate our contract pricing based on the size of our clients. MetroSouth Medical Center will receive the same negotiated contract pricing as our larger clients, which include some of the largest systems in the nation."
