About the Weight Management Institute

The Methodist Weight Management Institute is a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. It is believed to be the only comprehensive program in the Metroplex to offer or arrange for the full gamut of behavioral, medical and surgical options for obesity. Services address the many facets of weight management and include: lifestyle change management, a supportive program that teaches methods for managing food consumption and making the proper choices for long-term weight management; psychological counseling to address the pivotal role that self-esteem and psychological health play in weight management; nutritional counseling for patients who need guidance in developing healthy diets and recipes; support groups for sharing like experiences; programmed rapid weight loss for dangerously overweight individuals needing to lose 20-50 pounds in advance of surgical procedures; and weight loss surgery for qualified patients.
