g. He went on to earn his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in June of 1983 and completed his internship in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center. He then completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York where he was chosen to be Chief Resident from 1987-1988. During his final year in training, he completed a four month rotation in multiple trauma at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
