Medical Doctor Proposes New Brain Function Theory
Date:12/23/2009

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Mitchell Earl Gibson, best-selling author, board-certified physician, and CEO of Tybro Publications, has proposed a new energy receptor theory of brain function that might explain the efficacy of mantras and prayer in human illness.

Dr. Gibson, a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, proposes that there may be a new undiscovered class of receptors within the human nervous system that are composed of energy rather than matter.

"The energy receptors might be composed of a type of bioplasma that allows the body to receive and process different types of special energy frequencies," states Gibson.

Hundreds of research studies have shown that mantras, prayer and meditation techniques can successfully lower blood pressure, decrease chronic pain, anxiety, digestive problems and ease emotional problems. In many cases, these studies have shown that as little as twenty minutes of daily meditation with mantras can have profound effects on the body.

According to Gibson, energy receptors may help to shed light on the centuries-old worldwide practice of the use of mantra and prayer in the treatment of illness. Scientists have identified a number of different types of chemical receptors that are the main targets of drugs used in the pharmaceutical industry. Chemical receptors mediate the effect of chemical compounds on different organ systems within the body.

Energy receptors, according to Dr. Gibson, might receive the wave forms of prayer and mantra and transform the energy into a type of energy that the body can readily use for healing. The energy receptors could act as intermediate transformers which would receive and transform the energy of prayer and mantras into compounds usable by the body. Research has shown that many patients respond favorably to prayers directed toward them, even when they do not know they were being
