Medical Alert Provider Rescue Alert of California™ Saves a Senior’s Life in a Rare “No Contact” Situation
Date:12/13/2012

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA (PRWEB) December 13, 2012

Medical alert provider Rescue Alert of California™ announced today the release of new information received from their call center emergency hotline. In a rare situation their emergency team responded to a call for help from a subscriber that could not be located inside their home.

Responders reported the call was an accidental activation when the subscriber could not be located, but the call center confirmed that the alert button was still being pressed. Rescue Alert of California’s™ medical alert button has a signal range of up to 1,000 feet which extended beyond the subscriber’s house into her yard. Emergency responders then searched the property, and eventually found the subscriber and were able to pull her out of the window well she had fallen into while reaching for a misplaced garden tool.

Rescue Alert of California’s™ emergency response center is active 24 hours a day and available to subscribers in the event an emergency happens. Rescue Alert of California™ offers an extended signal range for emergencies that happen outside the home.

“There is no way to know if help is actually needed in a ‘no contact’ situation,” said Michael Bangerter of the Rescue Alert of California™ response center. “For this reason, every alarm is considered an emergency until it is proven to be otherwise. In some cases, the customer is not able to reach a telephone or speak loud enough to explain what is happening. In eye-opening stories such as this, it becomes evident that each emergency is a unique situation, and those that work at emergency response centers such as Rescue Alert of California’s™ must be ready to think on the fly in order to handle the situations for which they are called.”
