Mediaplanet and Ekso Bionics Make Strides Together for Stroke Survivors
Date:5/27/2016

With over 60 percent of acute stroke survivors being left unable to walk or needing intervention to walk, the demand for a sustainable product to aid in the rehabilitation process has steadily increased. Ekso Bionics had been working to help fill this void and aid in the recovery of individuals with hemiplegia due to stroke.

Ekso Bionics has now received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to market its Ekso GT robotic exoskeleton, the first to be cleared by the FDA for use with stroke patients. The clearance of this product is a milestone for establishing a major standard of rehabilitation of stroke patients. Ekso GT is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that enables individuals to stand up and walk over ground with a full weight bearing. Used in a clinical setting this product could be the first of many steps in the recovery process for a stroke survivor.

The print component of “Stroke Awareness” is distributed within this Friday's edition of USA Today in New York, Los Angeles, North Central Florida, Washington D.C. and Baltimore, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 750,000. The digital component is distributed through a vast social media strategy, across a system of top news sites and partner outlets.
